Battlefield 3: End Game - Nebandan Flats

As a World Builder For Battlefield 3: End Game I had the opportunity to create and own the level Nebandan Flats. The End Game team was small and focused with a strong sense of ownership and a wide range of responsibilities. Working on Nebandan Flats my responsibilities included level art, ernvironment art, level design, level concept and backstory, backdrop work, shaders, texturing, modeling, bug fixing, polish and finally optimization. It was a huge learning experience and tons of fun owning a Battlefield level from start to finish.

My goal was to make the world feel alive. I wanted the wind to move the grass and bushes. Gusts of wind kicking up dust. Birds taking off when alerted and circling the sky. The level is designed to allow for full freedom of fast paced movement. Preferably riding the high speed motorcycle available for this DLC.

We have had some dinosaur references in the game already but something i really wanted to add was a living and breathing dinosaur so i decided to create a Pteranodon and set him up to roam the level as a little easteregg. I also modeled and spread out some extra dinosaur skulls over the level for players to find.
